Save Your Tapes, Austin’s highest rated digitizing service is returning to San Antonio and we’re hiring a Lead Digitizer to lead operations in the city. You’ll follow up with prospective customers via phone or email within 30 minutes during business hours, pick up new orders at our retail location within 24 hours of customer drop off, and pick up from customer homes for SYT Home Pick Up orders. You’ll process orders within our advertised 5-7 day window and communicate promptly regarding any delays. This role requires you to be organized, promptly respond to your customers, and provide speedy, quality service.

Description
We’re looking for the next Save Your Tapes Lead Digitizer in San Antonio who will be our main customer representative and digitizing expert. You’ll process orders within our standard 5-7 day service level agreement and communicate promptly with customers if their order might take longer. You’ll call or email new leads back within 30 minutes during business hours and within 24 hours outside business hours.
All equipment is provided and a $500 refundable deposit is required to receive equipment. The deposit can be paid up front or deducted from your initial pay statements.
You’ll need a dedicated space in your home for your workspace which will include 3 computers, 3 VCRs, 2 video cameras, 1 printer, 2 8mm digitizing machines, and various other components (pictured below).
Compensation
Subject to change. Final numbers will be stated in offer.
Initial pay for this position is determined as follows:
Tape Digitizing - Completed Order: 50% of order subtotal
Order completed 1-3 days before pay statement: 10% order bonus
Rush fees: 75% of rush fee
SYT Home Pickup: $20 for each SYT Home Pickup order
Other bonuses available depending on performance
Tips: 100% of customer tips
Pay is biweekly on Sunday. Your net pay is calculated by taking your earnings and deducting your portion of consumable expenses for the statement period in addition to a fixed admin fee and equipment. Admin fee will be reduced 75% until orders are ramped.

What’s involved in processing an order?
Here are the steps in brief:
Pick up order.
Download all orders to computer.
Print inventory stickers for each order and inventory all tapes.
Email customer and digitize tapes:
For specialty formats, insert tape into equipment, rewind & press play, then let tape process. Stay nearby and don’t leave machine unattended in case it jams. Process time 20min-1.5hrs. ($25-$75 per film reel).
For standard formats, insert tape into player, rewind & press play, then let tape process. OK to leave unattended. Process time 1min-6hrs. ($18.75-$25 per tape).
Quality check each tape, mark unsuccessful transfers, merge specialty format video files, flag & process any redos.
Email customer, set up Dropbox link, make DVDs and flash drives if ordered.
Create invoice, print printouts, bag/box order, drop off.
